Summary
A collection of nature essays by John Burroughs (1837-1921), the American naturalist and writer whose intimate observations of birds, plants, and landscapes made him the most popular nature essayist of the early twentieth century. Burroughs was a friend and neighbour of Henry Ford (they camped together with Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone) and his writing embodied the back-to-simplicity values Ford admired.
